ICES was founded in 1976 as a non-profit organization with the purpose to share, promote, encourage, publicize and practice sugar art. There are chapters and clubs throughout North America and the world.

The Illinois Chapter holds 4 Days of Sharing each year on a Sunday in October, January, April and June in different areas of the state. Our meeting is open to all ICES members, guests are welcome to see what we are all about. Each meeting showcases 3 to 4 demonstrations by local and national cake artists sharing various techniques and ideas.

Both the Illinois Chapter and the ICES national organization publish newsletters for members about upcoming events, chapter news, recipes, pictures and articles of members work in sugar art. Our current local chapter issue can be downloaded from the Newsletter page.

In July or August of each year the ICES national organization invites all members and guests to the national convention. This 4 day event features numerous demos, hands-on classes, vendor mart and a cake exhibition featuring over 500 cakes and creations from members across the globe.
